Gurney perjury retrial goes to jurors in Orlando
Former Senator Edward J. Gurney rests his defense in the Orlando perjury retrial after eight men and four women begin deliberations. The case stems from a 1971-73 political shakedown inquiry with a Tampa jury previously acquitting him on several charges. The judge rejected one count about knowledge of fund-raiser pressure and no witnesses supported his claim of no mid 1973 knowledge of expenditures.
