University Seeks Full Cash Request

Dr David Mullins president of the University of Arkansas told the Legislative Council the university needs more money than the commission on coordination of higher educational finance has recommended. The university is the only state supported school protesting budget cuts this year. A related resolution was adopted by Washburn Presbytery covering northwest Arkansas and by Ouachita Presbytery for southern Arkansas. Jones, the Democratic governor candidate, is tied to the Washburn vote. He was unavailable for comment.
