Patmos School P.T.A. met October 19 with president Mrs Organ Smith presiding. Fifth and sixth graders presented a program including devotional by William Drake, community singing, a salute led by Wille Shepherd, and various readings and habit talks. The sixth grade won the prize for most parents present. next meeting set for November 16.
Rosston Tilton Butler suffers a broken leg and fractured collar bone from a tree falling on him Tuesday while sawing wood but is stated to be doing well. Sunday school at Union totals 116 enrollment with 104 in attendance. Local society notes mention visits, a radio purchase, and Home Ec club officers and new members lists.
The Shower Springs Association had a well attended gathering with a good time and plenty to eat. Thomas Walker, operated on at John Chester hospital, is recovering well. Visitors included Mrs Jim Dodson and daughter Mrs Boyd Vaneten and Mr Vaneten of Hope calling on Mr and Mrs John Reece. Bryan Ruggles from El Dorado visited and attended the association. Mrs Ernest Lovett and Mrs Chester Garwin visited Mrs J W McWillies. Mrs Caudle of Bodcaw spent a weekend with her son Milton and family and attended the association.
