Damascus Likely Horse of the Year
Damascus, the 3-year-old colt owned by Mrs. Edith W. Bancroft, returns to race in the $100,000-added Jockey Club Gold Cup at Aqueduct, aiming to cement Horse of the Year honors after a Woodward Stakes victory. Rival names include Successor and Dr. Fager, with Laurel and Washington, D.C. International looming.
