FCC ends war freeze on Arkansas broadcast station bids
The Federal Communications Commission ended the wartime freeze on October 7 and nine applications for new standard broadcast stations in Arkansas remain. Camden Radio Inc seeks a 250 watt 1450 kilocycle station at Camden, while Arkansas Airwaves Co plans a 250 watt 1450 kilocycles station for North Little Rock. Little Rock contenders Arkansas Democrat and Capital Broadcasting seek 1400 kilocycles stations at 250 watts, with agent B. J. Parrish of Pine Bluff. When same frequency is claimed, FCC schedules hearings.
