Mrs J A Peters shopped in Nashville Saturday. Mrs James F T Dotson and son of Nashville were guests of Mrs J L Eley Tuesday. J L Eley was in Hope on business Tuesday.

Shover Springs Home Demonstration Club Meets at Mrs Philips

The Shover Springs club met October 16 at Mrs C J Philips home with 14 members and one visitor. One new member joined. Miss Griffin led devotion and demonstration on rolls and coffee wake. They plan to take fruits meals and vegetables to Hope for judging November 5 at the county contest. Next meeting at Mrs J B McWilliams with candies and fruit cake demo.

Indictment in Mount Vernon furnace death of Nancy Costigan

White Plains New York lawrence C. Stone, 20, indicted by Westchester grand jury for deliberated and premeditated murder in the furnace death of five year old Nancy Jean Costigan in a Mount Vernon apartment basement. Stone’s confession says he throttled her to death because of her screams and fear of misinterpretation. District Attorney Frank H. Coyne said the state will contend Stone attempted to attack the child.
