The Allen Home Demonstration club met with Miss Isabel Schooley on October 1 1938. Members answered the roll by sharing annoyances at church. They sang Long Long Ago and recited the Lords Prayer. Minutes were read and approved. The group won first place at the fair for their booth in September 1938 and voted to use the $40 prize to paint the Sunday school building. Mrs T B Fenwick read An Old Maid. Thabel Schooley gave a chicken pie demonstration and discussed other chicken dishes, plus a dress leveling demo. A delightful chicken pie plate was served. Games were led by the recreational leader. The next meeting will be November 4 at Mrs Owen Nix’s home.
