TV Westerns Hee Ramsey and Kung Fu Reviewed
Two new TV Westerns, Hee Ramsey on NBC and Kung Fu on ABC, are decent but not premieres. Both air about once a month, with Ramsey returning Oct 29 and Kung Fu last Saturday night. Carradine stars as Caine in Kung Fu, a mystic with a bounty on his head, while Hee Ramsey features Richard Boone as a sharp lawman in 1901 Oklahoma solving crimes with a primitive lab. The tone is formal, with noir-ish critique of dialogue and plotting, noting age of Westerns and suggestion to swap young widows for guitars.

Goodman blasts failure to pass highway bill
State Highway Director Ward Goodman warned that Congress inaction on a multi million dollar highway bill would cripple Arkansas highway plans. Without federal funds the building program would be seriously curbed and several projects could be halted. Dunn Harsh of Magnolia said the commission cannot start much new construction next year without federal aid and may turn to a bond issue. the House bill proposed 24.7 million for Arkansas highway construction in 1974 and 1979.
