Omnibus Returns With Renaissance Portrait and NBC 1976 Vision
CBS Omnibus starts its fourth season with a live Renaissance portrait featuring Charlton Heston as Niccolo, while NBC airs 1976 a speculative look at life in the gadget age. The Omnibus program is praised for historical authenticity and strong bibliography by Cooke and Coughlan. NBC’s vision is critiqued as gadget laden and lacking a solid idea of future human behavior.
