Victory 4-H Club Wins State Attendance Award at Show

Violence in Arkansas Claims Fifteen Lives in Week
The Associated Press reports Arkansas' violent deaths reached sixteen for the week ending Sunday midnight. Among the victims were seven on highways and a 7 year old boy George Watson of Hope killed on Highway 67. A man, 30 year old Robert Mason, died after knife wounds in Forrest City. Victims also included Bolden Thrash in Walnut Ridge following a long feud, and Lonnie Shaddock who stabbed Arthur Winston in Little Rock. Dr. Riley Cowan, 70, died in a Fort Smith car crash, and 71 year old Jess Burgin perished when his tractor overturned. Police arrested Virgil Sutton in connection with the Forrest City stabbing.

Gilbert Brown Wins Big at State Livestock Show
