Ruling Favors Highway Department in Land-Take Case
Arkansas Supreme Court ruled the state Highway Commission is entitled to recover 9400 from Arkansas Real Estate Co for a 41.7 acre tract taken for the south terminal interchange of Interstate North Little Rock. The decision affirmed prior circuit court findings and noted the commission’s right to recover the amount from the landowner. In other opinions, the court affirmed a 10 year prison sentence for Carl R. Osborne for forgery and uttering, and upheld a workers compensation award for John T. Mann. It also affirmed a Pulaski Circuit Court ruling on a large fire and noted a nationwide fallout shelter funding request.
