Axis powers warned war against United States

Ti-Popolo d Italia warned on Tuesday that Germany Italy and Japan were ready to go to war with the United States. The paper rejected US proposals and favored instead a confrontational stance, accusing the Allies of blocking raw materials and seeking gold sequestration. US consulates in Manchukuo, French Indochina, Hong Kong and other territories were ordered to advise American plans. Japanese forces reportedly moved on Liu Kung Island Kantung Peninsula where Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek had renewed a lease with Britain.

Burma Road Reopened Amid War Pact Fallout

In a House of Commons address Churchill announced Britain would reopen the Burma road to supply China against Japan.
