A Louisville Times survey of Kentucky high schools finds most novice office girls in Louisville ill prepared, poor spellers, and weak in grammar. It notes a bright side for downstate graduates and argues that spelling can be learned by looking up unfamiliar words in dictionaries.
Eleven Home Demonstration Clubs attended a Foods and Nutrition Leader Training led by Miss Blanche Randolph at Mrs. Lorraine B. Wylie’s home. The mayor plans to keep guards until reopening and order is assured as federal mediators arrive.

CAPT. C. C. Cooke who piloted the United Air lines plane that crashed in Wyoming killing all 66 aboard was married to former Aileen Ott of Conway Arkansas. The Cookes have two children a girl 10 and a boy 6 and Mrs. Cooke is due to have a third child in about three weeks. Her parents Mr and Mrs J R Ott of Conway left Little Rock for their daughters home in Menlo Park California.
