Arkansas roads editorial opposes funneling all funds into trunk highways
Here and There editor Alex H. Washburn criticizes a state plan to detach a portion of Arkansas roads from the system and concentrate revenues on trunk highways. He argues for balanced road funding, state oversight of local roads, and relief for farmers and city streets, citing 1927 road law changes and inequities between rural and urban taxpayers. The piece urges attention to county and local road projects and farm-to-market routes over expansive trunk- highway construction.
