New P O Rate Rule Raises Insertion Costs For Paper
The Star informs advertisers of a new post office rule effective October 4 1977 that preprinted inserts in newspapers will be mailed at the third class rate. An extra sixty dollars was paid including twenty dollars for a third class permit and forty dollars for an annual fee. The newspaper will raise insertion rates immediately to cover the higher rate and notes the editor’s three day medical leave starting Tuesday at Hempstead Memorial Hospital.
