Crater of Diamonds Park productive two months in 1977
Jim Cannon reports September and October production at Crater of Diamonds State Park yielded 104 diamonds found by visitors and certified by the park geologist. Through October 1977 a total of 340 diamonds have been discovered, with several over one carat, including a 2 carat 75 point yellow gem and a 3 carat 13 point mocca brown. Visitors pay a $2 search fee and may keep any finds.
