A pre-Thanksgiving banquet was hosted at First Baptist Church fellowship hall with turkey and dressing, featuring musical selections by Lew Charles and Charlton Heston, followed by remarks on the meaning of Thanksgiving and a community singalong.

Family Gathering a Big Problem

Thanksgiving posed a problem for Mrs. Stephen C. Marchant as a 58-member clan gathered for a family dinner at the VFW Hall. The group included seven daughters and eight sons with 43 grandchildren. Three sons-in-law could not attend. Attendees traveled from Utah Idaho and Nevada for the reunion.

Cash Farm Receipts Lag in Arkansas

ARKANSAS farmers report a three quarter lag in cash receipts from farm marketing. Through Oct 1 the state earned 969.063 million from crops and livestock, down from 1st nine months of 1963, with crop sales falling from 175.311 million to 140.659 million. Cotton receipts lagged nationwide, reflecting delayed ginnings and lower 1964 prices. Outlook for 1965: income expected near 1964 and 1963 levels. Also, the Office of Education earmarked 2.289 million for Arkansas vocational education, funded by a 168 million national program starting in 1963, contingent on state plans approved by federal officials.

BRINKLEY Ark AP Lou C Bagwell 52 of England drowned Thursday when the fishing boat overturned on a lake near Brinkley. Car roll Covington also of England was dumped from the craft and reached shore. Covington started back to rescue Bagwell but Bagwell disappeared and was later found dead.
