Trial Delay in Marshal Stanley v. Highway Dept

Circuit Judge Henry Means postponed the retrial of a multimillion dollar suit by Marshal Stanley against the state Highway Department over land condemned for Interstate 20. Clinton man shot to death in Peedee community

Fletcher Williams, 66, of Clinton was killed by a single rifle shot at the home of Mrs. Ellen Howard in the Peedee area four miles east of Clinton. Mrs. Howard was held on an open charge. Sheriff Amon Ward reported the incident.
