Here and There Editorial on Hope Better Housing Program
Editorial by Alex H Washe outlines Hope Arkansas plans to organize a federal Better Housing program meeting at 7 30 pm Thursday in the earty hall. Gilroy Cox will explain two divisions: 20 percent underwriting for home repairs and 80 percent for refinancing mortgage debt and new building. The piece emphasizes housing needs, agriculture, building trades, and durable goods industries, arguing the program could unlock labor, idle bank funds, and gilt edged loans as Hope joins a national recovery effort. It notes Hope’s need for renovation, the nation’s weathered housing, and the potential impact on employment and prosperity with government guarantees and banker investments.
