Annie Hoover Circle of W M U First Baptist met November 16 at Mrs Homer Beverley s home with Spice Cake and coffee. plans for holiday missions discussed and assignments given. Carbon Monoxide Proves Fatal at Newport

In Newport Arkansas today two men were found dead in a parked pickup on a county road, with one more man in critical condition. Coroner Ottie Dillinger identified the deceased as Joe Butler, who had papers listing Poplar Bluff Missouri and Little Rock as addresses, and Charles Bradley of Tuckerman, age 50, hospitalized. A door to the locked truck had to be forced open after an area resident alerted authorities.

Arkansas Gazette Marks 145th Anniversary in Little Rock

The Arkansas Gazette, the oldest newspaper west of the Mississippi, celebrated 145 years with William Woodruff issuing the first Gazette in 1919.
