Mary Lewis Rateliff 74 died at her son's Garland City home Sunday afternoon after a long illness. Born December 12, 1869 in Birmingham Alabama she moved to Hope at age 11 and married J. G. Rateliff in 1886. Survived by 10 of 13 children, brothers Lum Tom Thad Vines, sisters and foster-sisters. Funeral 3 p.m. at New Hope Primitive Baptist Church officiated by Elder E. J. Lambert with burial in New Hope cemetery. Smith Burial association handled arrangements.
