U.S. Appeals Over Rebel Espionage Trial Verdict

Rebels announced that a 36 year old doctor from Rolling Hills California was convicted of espionage and sentenced to die at noon. A Monday meeting with the U S consul and rebel officials who defended Carlson were present. A rebel radio message said Americans and Belgians in rebel territory would be held until U S and Belgian aid to Tshombe’s government stopped in Leopoldville.
