Hope Star Opinions On Church, State And Prohibition
In Hope, Tuesday mass meeting with Hempstead county ministers aims to push a county referendum against liquor stores. The Hope Star rejects the idea churches must lead moral policy, arguing church involvement in politics destroys government, and favors a state dispensary system with a single liquor store per city, strict advertising bans, and tax considerations.
