The issue lists numerous meetings for the week from the First Presbyterian First Methodist and First Baptist churches. Circle 1 Circle 2 and Circle 3 host sessions at various homes led by Mrs Booth Mrs Look Mrs McKenzie and others with chairmen Berford McRae and Elsie Weisenberger. Auxiliary and mission groups meet at the Garr ett Memorial Baptist First Christian and Wom en's Council venues along with junior R.A. and G.A. activities.
The JOY Sunday school class of First Baptist met at Mrs. Jack Beaty home with co hosts Mrs. Charles Graham and Mrs. Harold Porterfield after church. Chrysanthemums decorated the reception rooms. The president Mrs. James La Grogsa led the business session. A social hour featured salt plate and coffee for 10 members. The Camellia Garden club gathered at Mrs. W T Franks home with assistant hostess Mrs. Lt Burin. Chrysanthemums and roses adorned the rooms as Mrs. Jim Cole presided and spoke on the Garten club Conclave in Texarkana. A program on Flower Arrangements by Mrs. Cole followed. Prizes were won by Mrs. L B Barnum and Mrs. George West in arrangement and Gould exhibits. Refreshments were served by several members and Little Miss Pepney Ann Franks. 16 members attended.
A promotional offer invites kids to bring 10 Lux Soap wrappers to Saenger or Rialto Theatre on Monday to receive a free movie pass valid for any one show during the week. Wrappers will be distributed to Sara Lauterback.
Corina, Mrs Sadie May, and Mrs Oliver Mills left for Little Rock for a Marion Hotel dinner meeting. Robins family headed to Dallas to see the Arkansas SMU game. Sa turday visitors included Hall family traveling to Lake Village. many listed attended the Hope Smackover game. Hatcher family left for Sheridan due to Mrs Hatcher’s mother’s death, M A Hatcher.

Mr and Mrs Terman L McMillan announce the birth of a daughter Shir Sue born Thursday November 3 at Julia Chester hospital.
Kobe Japan Nov 12. George B Thompson 26 Hammond Iowa shot dead after ignoring guard challenge at Kobe Pier. Thompson allegedly drove a tractor toward guard and Japanese sentry Rex. Robert Taylor 20 of the 11th infantry was on duty as guard with Japanese guard. Thompson died at hospital. Survived by mother Vega Thompson of Hammond, Iowa.

Columbus police report an Ohio State University senior and managing editor Jack T. McKeown was shot dead by fellow student Varie Heer, a first year veterinary student, after a party near the Delta Tau Delta house. Heer, 20, from Euclid, was taken into custody and later surrendered his weapon at a disposal plant.
