Conference Plan Hit by Woodson
Conway Ark, Tuesday. Arkansas State Teachers coach Warren H Woodson says eight state colleges for teachers is impracticable. The Echo student paper proposed a league including Arkansas Louisiana Mississippi Tennessee Kentucky Missouri Oklahoma and Texas. Woodson and Henderson State coach Sojon Sudduth say such a conference would cause financial hardship and force Teachers to drop Arkansas Tech, which Woodson regards as stronger than any proposed member. Colonel H L McAlister, president of the State Teacher College, also says the plan has no merit.
