Jackie Cooper runs Screen Gems pilots in new role
AP writer Bob Thomas details Jackie Cooper’s shift to studio head at Screen Gems. He oversees 64 million dollar annual output and 6 to 12 pilots for next season, diversifying from domestic comedies to half hour dramas and diverse specials including Inger Stevens Sweden tour, tape serials, game shows and sports. Inga context beyond. The piece blends Hollywood business notes with a separate Supreme Court ruling on the Heart of Atlanta Motel case, noting a fast decision request denied.

Jackie Cooper Faces New Career Path In Shifting Screen World
The actor recalls surviving a changing film industry by moving from Hollywood after the war to New York stage and TV, then back to a produced series The People's Choice. He dislikes acting now but values directing and production work, noting 40 years in the business since starting at age two. He dismisses a return to acting while acknowledging Screen Gems may mentor new projects.
