Objections to censorship blur the lines of punishment
A column compares two censorship cases to show that moral intent does not guarantee consistent legal outcome. A New York grandmother jailed for mailing a sex education pamphlet contrasts with a Boston man who bought and shared obscene material about a play yet faced no arrest. The piece argues censorship often fails rationally.
