Arkansas Use Tax Debate Faces Narrow Path Toward Reform
A Arkansas newspaper editorial urges enacting a use tax to match the sales tax and fund public welfare, arguing the proposal must avoid doubling taxation on industry. It criticizes past efforts by the Arkansas Education Association and other proposals, urging a straightforward use tax applied broadly to manufacturing and goods, while highlighting potential impacts on new factories and the investment climate.
