Soldiers Dance at Columbus Draws More Women Than Men
Soldiers from Columbus area and nearby Lockbourne Air Force Base attended a service men’s dance at Memorial Hall. About 150 soldiers joined 140 service men as women volunteered and courted partners, with many co eds cutting in to dance. Officers later sent troops from Fort Hayes to balance the crowd, in a lighthearted wartime social event.
