McGovern closes South swing in Little Rock stop
Sen George S McGovern wrapped his last campaign leg in the South at Little Rock predicting a great Democratic victory. He rallied about 6000 at an airport event and urged a new quest in elections while criticizing Nixon and urging peace in Vietnam. He cited Pryor and Bumpers as supporters and proposed Mills as a potential treasury secretary. Mrs McGovern and their family attended as he urged voters to resist polls and leadership drift. A separate North Little Rock section reports Virginia Penny saying a Nixon sign was ripped and she was harassed at the rally by Democrats as Nixon supporters observed.

The law will protect UTU rail workers with contracts preventing relocation to keep jobs and barring outside territory transfers. It promises ten years to phase out unnecessary crew assignments as personnel retire or advance. The guarantees and contracts present a fair deal for trainmen, railroads, and Arkansas. Vote FOR Act 1.
