No Buildup of Hostilities in Korea Despite Attacks
AP dispatch from Seoul reports that US officers see no major escalation toward full-scale conflict despite 25 South Koreans and six Americans killed in the past two weeks. Ambushes near the armistice line timing around President Johnson's visit prompted heightened concern but officials say incidents remain sporadic. South Korean authorities note the ambush and follow-up attacks nearby as targeted intimidation during the President's stay. US and South Korean forces continue patrols with no new alerts along the 151 mile front.

One Dead in Malvern Plant Blast
An explosion at Reynolds Metals Co. Jones Mill plant in Malvern Ark killed 50 year old Wallace Cagle and injured 40 year old Vantrease and 22 year old Wayne Crumby, while two other workers escaped unharmed. The blast sparked a fire that destroyed part of a 400 foot building housing 25 natural gas powered engines used to melt ore for aluminum, with the fire contained after more than two hours. No cause is known and 20 percent of plant capacity may be phased out indefinitely as investigation continues. Fire units from Hot Springs Malvern and Benton aided in the effort.
