Runge notes Korea war supply struggle and ROK progress
Runge recalls the Republic of Korea Army quartermaster corps produced 85 percent of supplies early in the war while rapid withdrawal cost stores of winter clothing. Troops salvaged 500000 bags of rice and other goods. ROK recruitment rose to over 1000 per day as Americans supplied boots and jackets. In two cities Taegu and Pusan much was made, but transportation shortages remained. Active volcanoes were reported in nine New Mexico sections.
