NFL Returns to Labor Talks as Key Subcommittees Form
NFL management and the players union met in Washington to form four subcommittees on major disputed issues. A seven point plan was offered by the players, with the owners agreeing to most points but rejecting a dues check off for 1976. A task force may hire outside advisors to craft a workable reserve system. Discussions followed two court rulings deeming the college draft and Rozelle compensation rule illegal. The groups aim to report back by December 1 with the goal of an agreement before the next Super Bowl.
