Manhattan grand jury indicted two men Donald Ramsey and Thomas Dennis both 26 and 21 on murder and rape charges in the deaths of Linda Fitzpatrick 18 and James Hutchinson 21 at an East Village LSD party. The victims were two white individuals. the suspects held without bail since arrest after the bodies were found October 8 in a tenement basement. A related indictment charged Fred Wright and Ramsey with raping a 22 year old woman in the same building. Wright jailed on 50,000 dollar bail.

George Esper reports from Saigon that Viet Cong forces failed to seize Loc Ninh after a fourth major assault this week. Allied casualties reached eight Americans and 32 wounded, with 23 Viet Cong killed and 74 wounded. four POWs captured and 24 weapons found amid intense air and artillery support. Seven civilians were killed and ten wounded in the Dai Loc attack, with nine Marines killed and 14 wounded in unofficial tallies.
The new cold front will enter Northwest Arkansas Friday and move southeast through the state by Saturday. Expect showers ahead of and along the front with increasing clouds Friday into Friday night. Freezing temps likely Saturday night and a continued cold spell into early next week with highs from 47 to 88 and lows from 34 to 50 across sites.
