U S Agency Aids Ethiopian Aerial Spraying Project
An unusual 17 year effort in Ethiopia funded by AID uses a small aircraft fleet to spray for desert locusts and plant diseases. Led by supervisor Al Temple, the program trains Ethiopian pilots and mechanics, with Temple surviving a crash and gunfire incidents while advancing crop protection and saving millions in crop value in recent years.
