Aspin seeks ban on dog use in chemical, biological tests
Washington AP Rep Les Aspin introduced a bill to bar the military from using dogs in any chemical or biological weapon experiments. He cited reports that the Army planned beagle tests and alleged a quashing of fears with a figure of 450 dogs to be used.

Consultant describes city DWI program progress and plans
Jack Hill, regional consultant, met with Hope officials and Red River Tech volunteers to review the DWI Driver's Re-Education program. Mrs. Robin Moore reported 255 students completed the course for first offenders in eight months with six repeaters, a recidivism rate just over two percent. Fifteen persons were referred to the Drinker Driver program for two or more DWI arrests in one year, four of whom violated probation and had it revoked. Hill discussed a potential halfway house in Hope with Ed Hartsfield and Horace Anthony.
