Choir Leader Questioned in Slaying

Millville New Jersey May 3 UP a 21 year old choir leader and new groom with arrests involving teen girls was questioned in the strangling of Lorraine Hess a Millville High School junior. Police identified the suspect as Robert Albert a chemist and church member. Detectives called the arrest the most important break so far and noted Albert used a fictitious image to trap the slain girl. Richler 27 said she saw him with Hess two months ago.

Harris Seeks Reelection Aimed at Budget and Defense

Extension Service Appointments Are Announced

Two appointments were announced by the University of Arkansas Agricultural Extension Service. Eddie E. Changler, formerly an assistant county agent in Missouri and Mississippi county, is named Garland county agent with headquarters at Hot Springs and will assume duties May 20. Farry Frances Barton, about to receive a bachelor of science degree, is named assistant home dem- onstration agent.

Most of Nation Has Warm Weather

The Associated Press reports a warm spring day across much of the United States with temperatures in the 70s and 80s. Skies were generally clear with light showers limited to parts of the east central states and plains. Daytime highs reached 101 in Phoenix and 87 in Bismarck, while 04 was recorded in Fresno.

Dr Thompson to Head University of Arkansas Psychology Dept

Fayetteville May 23 The University of Arkansas names Dr Merrell Eugene Thosnpgon as head of the new psychology department. The field was previously part of a combined psychology and philosophy unit led by Shantz who remains head of the philosophy department. Dr Thompson becomes head effective Sept 10 after serving since 1947 as associate professor of psychology at New Mexico A&amp.M College.
