Court to Rule on Church Aid Subsidies in Pa. Case
The U S Supreme Court session will decide whether Pennsylvania may pay 23 million dollars to Roman Catholic and other church related schools for salaries textbooks and teaching materials. The case stems from a 1968 law struck down for excessive entanglement with religion and concerns future payments and past reimbursements. The state argues such payments would burden parochial schools and families who relied on the law. Also note: The Artmobile from Ark Arts Center will visit City Park over Centennial with pottery and weaving demonstrations on all three days.
