The engagement of Miss Martha Jane Mosley to Michael Ray Allen is announced by her parents of Hope. Miss Mosley is a 1969 Hope High School graduate and a senior education major at Southern State College. Mr. Allen, also a 1969 graduate, attended Ouachita University and is stationed at Pearl Harbor with the Navy. The July 22 wedding will be at First Baptist Church in Hope.
Music students of Mrs. Bess Evans performed in Texarkana for the National Music Guild. Students listed include Anita and Wayne Allen, Malinda Arrington, Vicki Brown, Gail Cannon, Glen Cochran, Kim Harper, John Jones, Lisa Tee, Kay McHenry, Mark McHenry, Lisa Parham, Loree Pierce, Susan Tolleson, Blake Tolleson, Tena Walden, Pamela Wright, and Betty Szymanski. Ratings awarded were excellent and superior. Fund for the Banned: South African Council of Churches to launch an ecumenical aid fund for those banned or restricted by the government. Trustees will administer the fund.
