Faubus Calls Pension Bill a Bad One
Gov. Orval Faubus said he would have vetoed last year’s quasi judicial retirement bill if aware of its liberal provisions. Kenneth Sulcer, Osceola Democrat candidate for governor, urged a special session to repeal the act that grants retirement benefits to members of state commissions. The plan allows qualified members to draw half pay up to $6,000 a year at age 65. Faubus has said a special session isn’t warranted.
