Two SWC referees fail lie tests subpoenaed for hearing

Newsman Eugene Roper Jr Dies at 66 in West Point

Oakhaven Adopts Firearm Regulation Ordinance

The town council of Oakhaven Arkansas enacts an ordinance regulating the discharge of guns within the incorporated town. It defines firearms, prohibits shooting any gun or air rifle in town, and imposes a mayor court fine from one to fifty dollars. An emergency clause declares the ordinance in effect upon approval and publication. May 2, 1962.

Tractor Wreck Proves Fatal in Jonesboro Ark

An Arkansas tractor accident near Bald Knob killed 37 year old Kieffer of Weiner, as he and his brother Melvin were building a pond dam. The tractor flipped while they were maneuvering it up a slope, the Bald community reported. Authorities investigated the fatal incident.
