Young Legislator Pleads Innocent in Senate Shooting Charge
Oklahoma City May 9 A State Representative from Holdenville pleaded innocent to assault with intent to kill State Senator Tom Anglin in a Senate floor shooting. Anglin, recovering from a flesh wound, said he did not fire and investigators agreed. Scott, a 35 year old former marine, remained jailed overnight with bond set at 5,000. Irene Tucker, Scott's ex wife, attended arraignment and divorce ties were noted. Scott claimed Anglin threatened him and drew first. Anglin denied shooting and two county attorneys supported that.
