About 90 fifth graders from G. F. Castleberry School were denied a Capitol tour in Little Rock after Capitol guards required a written authorization. Gov. Rockefeller's secretary said the state Capitol was closed to Saturday tours, despite a letter from the governor's office welcoming the group. Secretary Bryant noted he would have approved if informed. Faulkner said the governor's office had warned the principal in advance and suggested another day.
Wallace clung to a narrow lead over Gov. Albert Brewer in the Alabama Democratic gubernatorial primary, forcing a runoff on June 2 as 2,950 of 4,353 boxes reported. Charles Woods, WWI veteran and millionaire, ran third, his 106,468 votes sufficient to trigger the runoff. Ohio voters backed Republican Gov. James Rhodes and Democrat John H. Glenn in a testing Senate contest, with Taft, Metzenbaum, and Gilligan also factoring in.

Mrs. Doris Little, 63, of Jacksonville, pleaded innocent to two counts of larceny in connection with shortages in the city water department funds. Indicted after Pulaski County Grand Jury heard 17 witnesses, with shortages totaling 6965 and 6026 dollars on specified dates.
Gov. Winthrop Rockefeller dismissed charges from former Gov. Orval Faubus regarding a late Friday telecast. The U S Weather Bureau predicts continued fair skies with mild temperatures through the weekend. A few isolated showers and thundershowers are possible tonight in northern Arkansas and around the state Saturday with cooler temperatures Sunday. Wednesday saw warming with highs from 83 to 88 across cities like Pine Bluff Fayetteville El Dorado Memphis and Little Rock. overnight lows ranged from 53 to 62 with no precipitation reported through 7 30 pm today.
Washington AP reports Maj. Gen. Winston P. Wilson Jr of the National Guard says Ohio guardsmen were executing orders to restore law and order when four Kent State University students were killed and 10 wounded. He notes no judgment on responsibility and describes a hands off federal stance while citing state rules of engagement.

The United States and South Vietnam launched three new thrusts into Cambodia as part of Nixon’s offensive, with 40 000 to 50 000 troops entering at six border points. North Vietnamese forces killed 25 U S troops in a northern South Vietnam artillery base attack, the largest single assault in 22 years. Commands report heavy losses for North Vietnamese and Viet Cong forces, and significant materiel seizures and air strikes along the Cambodian corridor.
Allied forces opened three new fronts inside Cambodia as Viet Cong and North Vietnamese attacked South Vietnam, killing 46 Americans and wounding 400 plus. An Ameri can base near the DMZ saw 29 killed in a single action, the heaviest toll in 20 months, while other clashes caused additional American and enemy fatalities and widespread troop movements into Cambodia.
Circuit Judge Russell C. Roberts ruled the May jury panel invalid after it learned members talked with a witness. He ordered 30 more venuemen and a new start set for May 20 in the service station holdup case near Conway. Defendants Ronald Roy Hill 21 and Daniel Kibehlenhen 17 faced grand larceny charges.
Texarkana expects to receive more than 2 million dollars if the Housing and Urban Development Department approves the second year of the Model Cities program. The plan, due May 23, lists total proposed projects at 3,591,000 dollars with 2,076,500 dollars in supplemental funds and the remainder from cooperative funding from other organizations.
President Nixon pledged a Cambodia pullout by July 1 at the latest. He said U.S. troops could not advance beyond 21.7 miles into Cambodia without Congress approval and would be withdrawn by July. Critics at Capitol Hill pressed the limits of the new policy while supporters stood firm.
