Climax Expected Near Hue in Vietnam War Drive
U S officials warn North Vietnamese attack near Hue could climax within a week to ten days. Smaller units approach firebases near Hue while larger elements of the 304th Division move along a key road. Officials say Hue could fall absent strong resistance though air raids have wounded thousands of enemy troops and weather should favor Southern forces. Conflicting reports follow the fall of Quang Tri City with surrender claims and rumors of unit disintegration.
