Royal Service program at First Baptist Prescott

The First Baptist Church in Prescott held a Royal Service program on Monday March 23 with the theme Make Me a Banner of Blessing. Mrs Jola McFae led ciréle 3 and the group sang The Kingdom Is Coming. Several members delivered readings and songs, lunch followed in the dining room with iced drinks and cookies. Deborah and Donnie Hudson of Bartlesville were visiting grandparents. William Cole was transferred to Keesler Air Force Base after basic at Lackland.

Law out of date ends gambling charge in truck case

Thirteen men charged with shooting dice in a truck won freedom yesterday as the city gambling law was deemed outdated. They faced counts of being inmates or keepers of a gambling house, but their attorney cited the 1874 law defining gambling houses as buildings booths yards gardens boats or floats, noting trucks were not included. The judge dismissed the charge.

Millwood Fight Continues Over Water Dam Plans

Most Wanted Man Seized at Memphis

George Montos the only fugitive to appear twice on the FBI ten most wanted list was captured in a Memphis suburb motel with fellow fugitive Robert Lloyd Jones. Agents used tear gas and seized cash over two thousand dollars each. Montos and Jones had long criminal records including murder and burglary.
