Painting Yourself Into a Corner With a Tax Brush
In a letter to The Star editor Alex H Washburn responds to readers about a proposed county reassessment. He clarifies that the program targets Hope district property, with potential county participation, and disputes a $100,000 outsider appraisal figure saying costs would be about $37,000 for Hope only or $78,000 for the whole county. He argues for a 100 percent assessment approach and notes political hurdles and millage implications.
