Mrs. John H Dawson of Stephens Arkansas died early Tuesday morning at home. She is survived by her husband, two sons and three daughters, plus brothers Dorsey and K G McRae and Hamilton McRae, and one sister Mrs A F Hagan. Funeral services were held at her Stephens residence with burial in Camden cemetery. Five grandchildren survive.
Texarkana report says Tim Fly Williams of Alexandria Louisiana surrendered for questioning in the 24000 dollar First National Bank of Hope robbery on February 23. He was not identified by Hope bank officials and released after custody transfers to Hempstead county sheriffs. Williams is Charlie Williams brother, once named among the gang.
Six year old Barbara Wiles was killed in a Brooklyn basement, strangled with a skipping rope. Within hours police arrested a man who said he was a barber but could not explain his actions he is about 24 years old. The child had been sent by her mother to fetch a baby carriage and did not return.
A Imperial Airways trimotor City of Liverpool crashed near Essen killing fifteen on board. Eleven victims were English, with no Americans aboard. The flight was en route from Croydon to Brussels carrying 12 passengers and a crew of three.

Dennis Richards, Hope High School track and football star and sophomore, was injured Tuesday when a rear wheel passed over his right ankle near the school. He was removed to his Foster Avenue home. a physician said a bone in his ankle was fractured and he will likely miss the rest of the season. The accident occurred shortly before noon when his trouser leg tangled in the wheel.

A Monday night explosion at Wolff Brothers store in Grady Lincoln County was followed by a large fire. Walter Patterson, the night marshal and brother of the slain officer Elmore Patterson, was found shot near the scene after a subsequent exchange of fire with two suspects fleeing from the store. Mrs. Sarah Reese, pioneer woman of the Mt. Moriah area, died last Thursday at age 85. Born near Nevada county, she married John Reese in 1868 and was widowed in 1881. Survived by four daughters, one son, 25 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren.

W Homer Figg Co will distribute crates. about 125 cars were planted last year though dry weather reduced harvest to an estimated 60 to 75 acres this spring.
Gov Futrell approved the Ellis highway refunding measure amid protests by bondholders and a warning from Pennsylvania Attorney General of a legal challenge. The plan would issue new state bonds to refund about 146 million dollars of highway obligations at 3 percent interest, maturing in 25 years. Pennsylvania holds 200 thousand dollars in highway bonds at 4 percent.
New York bankers warn that when Arkansas Governor Futrell signs the highway bond bill, the $84 million in state bonds will be secured by a secondary lien on gasoline and motor vehicle taxes. Arkansas may refund debt at 3 percent, and several states are reported to consider legal action.
Secretary of the Treasury William H. Woodin pledged prompt action against banking irregularities and assured the public nothing would be withheld or suppressed. Acting Comptroller Awalt defended a New York bank examiner for delaying prosecutions of Joseph W. Harriman and officials of Harriman National Bank of New York for five months.
