Bigotry and tolerance clash in a reader letter

A reader letter denounces bigotry and argues for peaceful, practical tolerance starting at home. It critiques liberal failure to understand prejudice while urging understanding of working class fears about prices and safety. It questions guidance to disown harmful relatives and stresses family influence on attitudes toward race and co workers. The text references American society, generational divides, and quotes from readers on race and violence.
