Janitor Kills 3 Wounds 6 at Ethiopian Embassy

Da Nang Atmosphere War Report Of Violent North Vietnam Push
The Viet Cong spring offensive struck northern South Vietnam as rockets pounded Da Nang shantytowns and U S and South Vietnamese forces fought heavy battles near the city. More than 10 000 American troops widened a counter offensive northwest of Saigon while U S air and artillery strikes targeted enemy bases along the Saigon River. Casualties included 123 North Vietnamese killed on day one, one American killed and 23 wounded, with civilians suffering dozens of deaths and injuries from rocket barrages near Da Nang. A separate Marine camp skirmish 20 miles south of Da Nang produced 12 American fatalities and 30 wounded as the enemy mounted several assaults in the region.
