At Saint Louis stockyards hogs rose to 28.00 by 180-230 lb and cattle offerings opened slow with steers and heifers steady. cows weaker, utilities 12.00-14.00, slaughter bulls 10.50-12.50 while lambs traded around 23.00-50.00. In New York the stock market opened mixed then declined, with late-afternoon gains and narrow price changes. cotton futures were volatile, soybeans rose, and grains showed mixed results with March corn around 4% higher and oats near unchanged.

Byrum Hurst of Hot Springs has filed for reselection for position No. 2 in the district.
